The Hospitaler Sisters of Mercy and The Mother of Mercy Retreat Center 

Sacred Heart's Cross Country Team chose The Hospitaler Sisters of Mercy and The Mother of Mercy Retreat Center as their charity for this school year. The Hospitaler Sisters of Mercy operates the Mother of Mercy Retreat Center on Monastery Lane in Opelousas as well as working with Child victims of human trafficking through Metanoia Manor in Baton Rouge. On Wednesday, November 8th, some of the cross country team (Seniors- Jesse Johnson, Justin Castile,Taylor Darbonne, Catherine Larson, Jacelyn Pitre and Ali Fontenot) went to the monastery to deliver all of the collected items. Sister Anna Marie and Mother Superior showed the cross country team the updated renovated chapel and allowed the seniors to participate in a special prayer for our cross country team at state. The Hospitaler Sisters of Mercy and The Sisters of Mercy Retreat Center would like to thank each one of you for your kindness, concern and generosity. The SHS Cross Country Team and the Sisters would like to also give a special thanks to a group of former parents of SHS students that donated $611 for the sisters to purchase much needed items. Also, thank you to Mrs. Rebecca Ardoin for helping transport items to the monastery.
