While watching the news and seeing the horror, Ms. Tina Guillory, a Ville Platte native, began praying and asked the Lord, “What can I do?” He reminded her of the prayer banner she made for Israel and asked her to make one for the Ukraine people. She was compelled to paint the country’s sunflower on the banner to encourage the people to rise from the ashes and to remember that the Lord is with them. He also guided her to use certain scripture passages that are to counter pain, worry, fear, loneliness, and anger.
Ms. Tina had the Sacred Heart Elementary students who prayed the rosary sign the prayer banner. The banner will be sent to a church in Poland so the Ukrainian refuges know we are praying for them.
