Congratulations to the Sacred Heart High School Powerlifting Team for winning the State Runner- Up trophy in the 2022 LHSAA Powerlifting Division V State Championships this past weekend. The Trojans scored 35 points, the most in school history, on to claiming the State Runner-Up Title. Ascension Catholic High School edge out the Trojans 36-35 winning the State Title by one point over the Trojans.
Top Finishers for the Trojans were:
Jackson Manuel: State Champion in the 114 lb. 855 total. Class setting a new State record in the deadlift of 320 lbs.
Isiah Rion: 6th place in the 114 lb. class 600 total
Jesse Johnson: State Champion in the 123 lb. 920 total. Class setting a new state record in the squat of 370 lbs.
Jude Hebert: State Champion in the 132 lb. class 935 total.
Hunter Pitre: State Runner-Up in the 132 lb. class 895 total. Setting a new state record in the bench of 230 lbs.
Michael Fontenot: 6th place in the 148 lb. class 900lb. total
Colton Manuel: 7th place in the 148 lb. class 900 lb. total
Dylan Doucet: 5th place in the 165 lb. class 1035 lb. total
Everett Johnson: 3rd place in the 181 lb. class 1135 lb. total
Silas Chesne: 6th place in the 198 lb. class 1060 lb. total
The Sacred Heart High School Lady Trojans finished 5th overall in Division V with 13 points.
Top Finishers for the Lady Trojans were:
Madeline Fuselier: 3rd place in the 97 lb. class 380 lb. total
Adeline Launey: State Champion in the 105 lb. class 610 total. Setting 2 State Records in the deadlift with 275 lbs. and the Total record with 610 lbs.
Lily Deshotel: 7th place in the 123 lb. class 515 total.
Abby Quibodeaux: 5th place in the 132 lb. class 580 total.
