Safe Environment Program

The Diocese of Lafayette requires ALL adults who teach, coach or interact (volunteers, chaperones, substitutes, etc.) with Sacred Heart School students go through an initial Safe Environment Program training, and every year thereafter will renew the continued educational program.

This Notice is for all volunteers who have completed the Initial Safe Environment Training and are up to date with their Continuing Online Yearly Trainings:
If you receive an email from The Diocese of Lafayette regarding a “Background Check Renewal,” please know that this is NOT a scam.  The Diocese of Lafayette requires that a background check be completed/rerun every 5 years on every volunteer/employee/coach.  Once you begin the background check process you have 7 days to finish it otherwise it expires and you will be prompted again.  Once prompted, please sign in to your Virtus online account and complete the background check process at “virtusonline.org.”  We appreciate your cooperation and assistance in securing a safe environment for the protection of our students.
